- Engage the same standards of behavior on-line that you would face
to face. (If you wouldn't say it to them in person don't write it.)

- If your question is directed to a specific person and not to the
listserv then reply only to that individual and not the listserv (reply
to sender vs. reply to all).
- Avoid offensive language and personal attacks.
- No racial or ethnic slurs. (If talking about a specific ethnic or
religious group use politically correct terms, i.e. African American,
Muslims, Catholics, Caucasian, et al.)
- Do not spread rumors on E-Wood. (Try to present facts. ClEarley
identify opinions. Avoid passing on the opinions of others.)
- Be forgiving of other peoples mistakes. (Wood has the most diverse
student/parent population in the county, including but not limited to
races, religions, languages spoken, parent educational levels and
income levels.)
- Respect other member's time and bandwidth. (There are no rules on
the amount of posting's any one person can make nor on length. Use of
links (URLs) is recommended. Links allow E-Wood users to determine
what they want to open or avoid.)

with a specific teacher or administrator please take it up with the
school or county administration. )
- E-Wood WILL NOT BE USED TO SOLICIT BUSINESS!
- Family members and guardians of a student at Earle B. Wood Middle
School or members of the Wood Middle School staff are automatically
eligible to be members of the E-Wood listserv. The moderator may allow
others to join based on his/her judgment. (A principal of a cluster
school is one example.)
PENALTIES:
- The E-Wood moderator will be the arbiter of the penalties and all
postings on the site. Anyone who is penalized has the right to bring
their grievance in front of the full board at the next scheduled
PTA meeting.
- A first offense for violation of the above listed rules will be
publicly cautioned on the E-Wood site.
- A second offense will result in the member being censured on the
site for one month. This means the member can receive e-mails from the
site, but may not post.
- A third violation will result in the member being removed from the
list for the remainder of the school year. The member can be
reinstated at their request at the start of the next school year.
