Join the PTA

Your membership dues ensure your right to vote at PTA meetings, defray the costs of materials you receive, and support your child's education.

If you decide not to pay dues, you may still attend meetings and join our E-Wood listserv, but you may not vote.

When you join a local PTA, you also become a member of your county PTA, your state PTA, and the National PTA - all working together to ensure that every child has an opportunity to learn and be successful in school and in life.

Why Join

As a volunteer organization we need the help, ideas and special talents of our parents and teachers to organize and staff the many events that the PTA holds every year. Every little bit of help is appreciated and needed. You can help as little as 1 hour per month or once per year. Without parent involvement, we would not have a PTA, so please consider helping out! Fundraising is needed to obtain the necessary means to support all of our school activities, school supplies, staff appreciations, awards and grants, many of which include cash donations for students, families and teachers in need.

Every PTA member receives a membership card and PTA members can receive discounts on products and services. For these special member benefits, please go to the National PTA website.

Throughout the year, the PTA produces a series of events for students, teachers and parents. Please check our Calendar of Events!

The PTA has partnered with several organizations to provide even more beneficial donations for our school, like Box Tops for Education, Campbell's Labels for Education, Safeway and Giant Bonus Cards, and local restaurants. Ways to Join

• Complete the Membership Form (Adobe Acrobat PDF file) and return to school.

• Attend PTA Meetings - we meet every second Tuesday of the month and our meetings are open for everyone. Membership not required unless you wish to vote.

• Join E-Wood, the Wood PTA's email listserv on Yahoo Groups. It facilitates communication between parents, keeps you informed of upcoming school and PTA events and is open to all who wish to subscribe. You can choose to receive an email of newly posted messages, or a "Daily Digests" with all messages for the day in one email, or you can read the messages on the website at  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ewood/.
